aw shit.
totally passed out at 9pm, and got really excited that i could maybe sleep through the night and get up bright and early around 6am and start the day full of moving/packing/shopping for shit. but nope! my body woke me up at 12:59am, and i tried oh so hard to fall back asleep but it just wasn't going to happen.
damnit. i hate when my body thinks it's just a nap when i fall asleep at some ungodly early hour. eh.
living in my new place as of next thursday. mitch arriving sometime in the ungodly hours of thursday night/friday morning (he is driving; 20 hours). i am excite.

2:49 am - people who fall asleep quickly
|
i am so jealous of people who can fall asleep within minutes of deciding to want to sleep or within minutes of crawling into bed.
like just now, mitch and i were skyping and he goes "oh i'm tired" so we start to say our goodnights and if not 3 minutes later i hear him snoring. HOW CAN YOUR BODY DO THAT!?
i take AT LEAST a half-hour or more to fall asleep from the moment that i've either, a) gotten into bed, or b) mentally decided that i'd like to sleep.
most nights i take 2 or so hours, no joke, but on a lucky day when i've been running around since 6AM and it's now past midnight, i still take at least 30 minutes to fall asleep.
it's been like this ever since i was young. mom used to put me to sleep at 8pm with my KDWB kids night time radio station on and i remember looking at my clock when it would say 11pm and the station went from kids night time radio to some other weird station.
so, how many of you out there are lucky enough to have this great ability? please tell me so i can be more jealous of you.

9:20 pm - bad news now turned "good" ?

so the bad news i didn't want to mention on saturday:
on the drive home from getting mitch and i's new place i found out my car had been stolen, from right around the corner of my house. car was locked, no faceplate on stereo, nothing to lure someone to my car. it's a freaking 1993 honda accord. ain't nothin fancy.
made a police report, cops said they hope they find it in an alley somewhere, usually left there after someone used it all night/days to commit crimes. was hoping i would get it back in 1 piece, even if it had broken windows or burn holes in the seats from nasty cigarettes, or any slight breakage.
anyway, this morning my mom called me at 7am on her way to work screaming "I JUST FOUND YOUR CAR!!!!" she found it 3 blocks away from our house, down a giant hill, parked next to the president of the university of minnesota's mansion. i called the cops, walked down there and waited for them to come.
nothing was broken, my coin tray was out on my seat, and some papers from my glove box were on my passenger seat. an expensive blender was still in the trunk plus all jumper cables and car supplies. they took some really old mix cds but that's it.
SO SO SO SO thankful i got it back. it was totally killing my "high" of getting my own place and mitch moving here. i was so worried about how/whose car i was going to use (was using my dad's, but only because he was out of town) and that this was going to make moving so much harder/stressful.
now everything is a-ok! i got a CLUB to secure my car, and hit a jackpot at a local grocery store - 10 moving boxes for free! going to move some stuff in to the place on friday and start making that place feel like home. eeeee :)
oh sidenote: my neighbor's house was broken into wednesday--while she was home. my dad's car was broken into (window broken) on thursday/friday and they stole his stereo and ripped his whole dashboard out bad. and then mine! so my neighborhood which is super nice and not ghetto is suddenly turning into a burglars paradise :\ glad to be moving to woodbury i guess...

we got the place :)
we have the whole basement to ourselves. with our own private entrance, 2 bedrooms (each at least 12x12) with walk in closets, 1 bathroom (the shower has a chair/seat in it, lawl), living room, and "kitchen" in the utility closet (this is the only "ghetto" part. it's a fridge, oven, microwave, and laundry sink thing in the utility room. no counter space so we are going to create them with tables and cutting boards and such; this idea is still in the "brainstorming" stage), and storage area/pantry.
it has a couch, two end tables, coffee table, entertainment center/tv table thing, and large 7ft shelfing thingamajigger for us to use. also cable internet and direcTV w/ showtime. we are also renting a garage space from her, which mitch is head over heels for because he has never had a garage since he got his "baby" (car).
i have some other bad news, completely unrelated to the rental and such, but i will save it for another time because right now i just want to be happy we have a place. mitch getting here in less than 3 weeks is out of this world!

i need (3) movie suggestions from you!
it would be fantastic if, when you suggested 3 movies, you gave a little synopsis of the movie, or at least what genre it is. i love comedies, documentaries, drama, mystery, etc. i tend not to like sci-fi, high action, or those lovey-dovey hollywood boy-likes-girl movies.

starring black jack and mos def, it is a film about guys who hang out and work in a old, run down VHS movie rental store. competing with the big DVD rental stores is a struggle, and becomes even more of a struggle when something strange happens to all the VHS tapes in the store, and the only way to continue to run the store is to record their own, homemade renditions of the films. VERY FUNNY.

awwwww man, i've got a fever like woah and i swear to god if i get sick right now GRRR.
my coworker at the group home had pneumonia and was out for 2 weeks, but just came back to work yesterday, and she was still sick egh :( i also had to take my clients to a 12x12 room full of 30 other clients to get the flu shot. there were sick people in the room and oh how funny would it be if i got the flu at a place where they were giving flu shots, hah!
i'm not a hypochondriac, i honestly think this will be nothing and my body is just overheating because...?...and hey, maybe now is a better time to get sick rather than in 2 weeks when i'm on vacation.
everyone and their mom seems to be sick, are you?

this probably means nothing to 99.9% of my friends list but...
today AT&T finally turned on MMS messaging on the iphone!!! A.K.A being able to send a picture or video via text message/directly to someone's phone number. believe it or not, you were only able to e-mail photos or videos before, you could not send to anyones phone.
this helps a lot because i no longer have to say "hey! go check your e-mail whenever you can, i sent you a photo!" instead it's like "yo, check the end of this text out for some sw33t pixels."
careful, if i have your phone #, prepare for a flood of nonsense photos...ahehhehhhh...

3:53 am - i can't wait to be inspired to take more photos

so instead of renting the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 lens, i decided to spend some more money and get the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. the extra cha-ching will be worth it considering i will be able to shoot in (a little) lower lighting with an f-stop of 2.8.
so i think i will bring along my 50mm f/1.8, 300mm f/4 telephoto, my boring 28-90 f/3.5, and the fun 11-16 f/2.8 on vacation. if anyone wants to borrow me any other fun lenses i'm down ;) (i.e, a macro!) i am super duper responsible :P
i just made elvis presley's favorite sandwich: a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich. i don't know what all the rave is about, it's basically like a warm peanut butter and banana sandwich? unless maybe i didn't "fry" it like he did. (i just put butter on two pieces of bread, like how you make a grilled cheese). today i decided to eat something unhealthy and it's kinda disappointing :\

4:49 am - 28 days!
|
today i accepted the full time position at my group home job. i'm really excited about it and think it will go mega-smoothly. i can't wait to make mad bank...or at least more mad bank than i'm used to.
this weekend is going to be spent with my best friends, half celebrating my new position and half just having an good time. the plan is a party at alyses tomorrow night + a sleepover (we call them sleepovers, but it's more like oops drink too much and then realize you can't drive home so sleep in one of alyse & dave's 3 extra bedrooms). then saturday it's dinner, drinks & board games at chatterbox pub. sunday i will recuperate and take the day to clean my room and do laundry. and monday it's back to work for the week :)
somebody pinch me because life is going superb as of late (knock on wood). i'm feeling good about myself, i'm eating better, and i just have a more positive outlook on life.
.....i just wish i wasn't awake at 5am :\
